Why Research?
We know policy makers want to make evidence-based decisions using the most up-to-date knowledge.
Researchers at Lincoln are at the cutting edge of knowledge in a variety of areas that are crucial to local, national and international policies.
Why Lincoln?
The University of Lincoln research is striving to change society for the better. We have five key areas of strength:
We are a thriving University in a rural county, working across sectors and disciplines. Engaging with our regional, national, and international industrial partners has been essential to our rapid growth. In November 2023 we were awarded the Queen’s Anniversary Prize, the UK’s highest award for universities, to recognise our work supporting the agri-food sector.
The issues supporting productivity and improved living standards are interlinked and our experience is that sustained, multi-faceted and co-created interventions are the way to deliver lasting impact. The University takes a system-wide approach to help drive the economic growth and regional productivity by playing a proactive role – with local communities, schools and colleges, health and care providers, business and industry, voluntary and charity, culture and heritage as well as with local government and decision making bodies.
Alongside this we follow a ‘local to global’ principle of prioritising research and knowledge exchange that addresses the challenges of our communities and that has global significance.
